He had a panic attack for months and can not shake Why?
I had a panic attack two months ago and can not help feeling though I'm on drugs. Little things that never bothered me until now left feelings of anxiety and sadness. Does anyone have a cure?
The negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low, and when your serotonin level is low, are more likely to get anxiety, panic attacks, depression, etc. as antidepressant drugs (SSRIs – selective inhibitor of serotonin reuptake) helps increase the level serotonin. But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called St. John's wort – are said to be more effective than Prozac. No, is not for mild depression only and ignore those words. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic attacks as St John's Wort works like Prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc. The problem is that even if it is balanced serotonin … you have to "conduct learned "in his mind. We need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) does this. One technique you can use without CBT will be Distraction … There are several other techniques to help cope them! Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to …. Extracted de la Fuente.
What causes anxiety attacks, it felt like i was going to die?
I experienced a frightening anxiety attack – I think only those who have experienced one will know what I am talking about. I truly thought I was going to die, that I was losing consciensness and was too weak to even call 911. I just laid on the bathroom floor. It was so scary and I am scared if it happens again. What triggers it and what does it mean? Does it mean I have a mental problem and need to be on meds?
What you must know about panic attacks is that YOU CANNOT DIE!! This is very important because for a long time I too thought that I was going to die/lose consciousness. but if there is no physiological explanation for your symptoms then you have nothing to worry about.. You need to realize that you are in control and that you cannot physically pass out during a panic attack. When you have a panic attack in most/all cases your heart rate and blood pressure are elevated and the only way you can faint is if your brain isn’t getting enough blood/oxygen so when your heart pumps faster your brain is getting more blood circulation. This does not mean that you need to be on meds… It is scary yes but harmless and if it happens again you will now know that it is all in your head… there are many different triggers for panic attacks but at the main root of these attacks is stress… in order to combat this try to do things that relieve stress such as rigorous exercise or for me playing video games… good luck and just remember you have control of your body and your mind

Panic attacks leave a terrible impact on a person´s life. There are several symptoms that tend to disturb a person in many ways. An individual with panic attack disorder also lives in constant worry that he may have to soon suffer an attack and feel embarrassed in front of other people.
However, what most people are not aware of is that panic attack disorders are treatable, no matter how serious or intense the case. Experts in the field of medical science tend to recommend different types of techniques and therapies to facilitate the sufferer to lead a normal life. They believe that the disorder is a result of a combination of several environmental as well as biological factors just as other serious disorders like diabetes and heart disease.
People can be relieved of the scary symptoms via professional care. Success of the treatment depends and varies from one individual to the other. Some people may respond to a therapy within a few months while others may require about a year. The treatment method may also be made complex keeping in mind the exact state of the individual and intensity of the disorder.
The professional needs to understand whether the individual is suffering from depression or substance abuse. Sometimes, people may also suffer from more than one anxiety disorder. This also makes the treatment procedure, a little complicated.
There are certain steps recommended by the experts to people with panic attack disorder. Following these steps will help overcoming disturbing symptoms and even over-come avoidance of panic attacks.
Before following the steps given below, it is important to remember that avoiding places and situation that leads to occurrence of panic is not recommended. Avoidance tends to stimulate panic development.
Steps to follow:
a)Â Step one: Prepare a list: You must prepare a list of all types of safety behaviors you can imagine as well as exact reasons for adopting these. Also make a note of what you fear in case, you don’t follow these safety behaviors.Â
b)Â Step two: Rate Behaviors:Â You need to rate each of these behaviors on a scale of 1 to 10.
c)Â Step three: Prepare a list: Now, make a new list again and write down all the items in order of severity. The lowest severe should appear on top.
d)Â Step four: Rational alternatives: You need to have a look at all your reasons one by one. Now write down alternatives that are more rational. For instance, my heart seems to be fine hence, I can walk a little faster.
e)Â Step five: Decision to change: You must take the first behavior appearing on your list and try as hard as possible to resist it. Doing this will provide you an opportunity to understand that things are fine around you.

There is Two types of acute and chronic anxiety. Acute anxiety is commonly known as a "panic attack" where the body's response to an emergency that is activated at an inappropriate time. Symptoms of a panic attack may include, but are not limited to, shortness of breath, claustrophobia, heart palpitations, chest pain, dizziness, tremors, hot flashes or chills, nausea and a feeling of unreality. Some people have only one and never have another. Many people think they are having a heart attack or stroke, and some people are afraid of being alone or being in places public for fear of having an attack. For years, it was thought that there was no physical basis for anxiety, but many experts believe that a malfunction in brain chemistry can cause.

My wedding is in a week and a half and I'm a nervous wreck about flying since I got pregnant (I am 18 weeks). We have a 2 hours flight north. I have panic attacks and bad anxiety. I'm in a mild anxiety medication during pregnancy, as I had to download everything else (which I think is best for me in the long run.) I'm using special ear plugs for my ear problem and the "sea bands" to help with any unexpected …. nausea, but I'm worried by anxiety. What should I do if I have a panic attack on the plane??? I wish there was a "sedative" could give me or something. Any suggestions? (And do not just say calm down)
Hello dear, oh i can totally relate. after 9 / 11 did not I flew for several years, found any excuse to avoid it, I was so scared. but this year I found myself having to fly for work and for a funeral and a wedding, etc. and ended up having a lot of flights and trust me, it was more with each. I used to take xanax to fly, but with pregnancy, I could not! who helped fly with my husband and daughter, working flight with coworkers were not so comforting … but as you know, with fears of how best to treat the full face. you should learn relaxation and deep breathing to help you get through panic attacks. There is great therapy for the treatment panic, not just drugs. an anti-anxiety med that you take every day (Lexapro, etc.) can also be used to ensure that you are talking with a good psychiatrist who treats pregnant women. I wish him well!

Does this sound like a good battle plan for dealing with anxiety and depression?
I am planing on seeking the help of a medical doctor, mostly after I went to a walk-In doctor who said I sound like I have a case of anxiety and or depression going on, but was not willing to give me medican without a primary doc to touch base with and regulate the treatment. So my first plan is to meet with the doc, also I been getting spitural help from my Pastor, and my family is starting to wounder if I should for the time being remove myself from the one history class I am taking ( I am only going to college with one class right now) to protect my overall GPA, so as not to get in trouble if my illness leads to me getting an F, or a D. My family is also being super supportive with letting me not worry about seek a job if I do leave college for now ( I hold an Assoiates degree in Liberal Arts) since they want me well, and also they feel maybe the time off will helpd me know what to major in for my bachlors. Or if going back to a community college to get a trade skill.
Hi.
Sounds to me like you have an excellent plan of attack! Good for you. You’ve considered many of your options, accessed lots of excellent supports, and you’re still doing what you need to do on a day-to-day basis.
One thought on the school front – How are you doing in your class? Has the depression/anxiety become a problem? I know when I went to school, when I approached the disability services people, they were absolutely fantastic at making accommodations to accommodate my needs (anxiety/panic/bipolar) including allowing me extra time to complete assignments and doing my exams in a quiet room. Just a thought. Of course, if you are worried that at this point it really is a “No go” and you don’t want to jeopardize your GPA, then you should look at a withdrawal.

Hello, I recently got an 8 year old GSD mix breed dog and he is fantastic, almost all … except it has some serious fear of thunder, fireworks, bursting balloons, etc. are not run of the mill, but to hide the fear-and-then-pi-in-the-stairs-not-coming-to-per – hours fear. Is there anything I can do to reduce your anxiety? Need medicine? We've done the usual (mild persuasion, I am with him, etc. ..)
Ah, the joys of summer thunderstorms and fireworks. just do the same things we did 9 years ago when our first dog and did not start to feel anxious about t-storms and fireworks: shaking like a leaf, and sometimes afraid to urinate. We comforted her and whispered to her. It did not work (as are, too). Two years ago, we adopted a young dog rescued from a puppy mill, as part of the "evidence" they had to move to rescue the dog had to read 2 books about dogs fearful. And then, finally, we have learned that never, ever want to "comfort and coo" a dog who feels afraid, because then you are reinforcing the fear that the dog be valid. Instead, it's critically important to eliminate any fear of it same – take a deep breath and force yourself to be calm during a thunderstorm or f'works – and then try to get your dog performing tricks or obedience (and reward with treats EXTRA tasty, like pieces of lunchmeat or whatever you have on hand). As it happened, our little scared puppy mill was afraid Guy of t-storms/fireworks But everything, so that really helped our child to relax. (But usually works in reverse, the dog lying fear fear of failure fearful dog.), but just to be sure you keep both in a state of freedom and t-mind during storms or fireworks, we will carry out some large components and tries to run both of our dogs through some obedience commands. We want to ensure that maintaining the association of good things t-storms/fireworks – Delicious snacks and quiet of the two. Good luck and best wishes!
