Ok, so I go to a EXTREMELY hard prep school. I study ALL the time. Tonight I didn’t go to participate in a tradition that my family has had for 20 years because i have to study for a Physics test, a Latin test, and a History quiz that are all tomorrow and exams next week. I am only in the 8th grade and i need to find new study Technics and a balance with school and a social life. But at my school there is not much room for a balance, like, B’s are not good there. You are EXPECTED to get all A’s. I also have OCD, Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder and don’t cut my self much slack if i get lower than an A. Any body have any advice with OCD, Anxiety, Studying, being a perfectionist, and finding a balance?

Being someone who has had Panic Disorder for 18 yrs, that has gone to agoraphobia, and used to be a perfectionist- Breathe first, then you MUST have a social life to relieve stress. You can have the greatest grades in the world, but putting limits on yourself from my experience, has landed me from a very good paying career, to not being able make use of my education for the very reasons you state-expectations, perfectionist. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is best to see why you feel the need to maintain such high expectations all the time, of which you cannot control, and eventually will not be able to meet those limits, and you will find yourself in your anxiety condition far worse.

Like others have said here … it really can vary depending on the situation and the internal chemistry of the person. Some people are biologically predisposed to panic attacks and are weakened by them, leading to severe phobias and such. Others are very good after a drink or a support phone call or a nap. Sometimes medications also help. I myself suffer from PTSD so I have much experience with this. I got panic attacks and night terrors screaming for years with and without medication. Here are some tips … 1) do not fear or anticipate the panic attack itself, which only tend to trigger or worsen when it is received. 2) while you are at the center, Ride It Out like a thunderstorm or other natural disaster, not react emotionally to it, treat it as long as pass. it will happen. 3) Do not criticize or blame yourself for not having a panic attack like a character flaw or some other fault of their own. this will get how much more difficult. 4) Always have an emergency plan for when it arrives. have a routine you can do when your at home to minimize the side effects: such as breathing exercises, take a shower, stretching, write a speech when you're not panic when you read it, etc. If you get in public with a routine to obtain insurance, such as finding a public restroom and into a position so you can do breathing exercises, while privately wait for it to pass. 5) Avoid stimulants such as sugar, caffeine, nicotine and 6) the brunt of a panic attack is a panic, because you have one, thereby doubling his anguish. Remember … is temporary and has the power to reduce its severity if you follow some of these steps. 7) When it's over. forgive yourself. treat it like it's no big deal. If you are exhausted and hung over, just relax. that has been through a marathon for crying out loud. You are not alone. Millions of people have problems with this. You OK.

First things first. I am not a Doctor but I myself use to suffer from panic attacks. Notice how I said use to. Second I don’t care what anybody says but I will say that you don’t need medicine to help you. What you need to ask yourself is “What am I afraid of”??? A holliday is suppose to cause fun and joy not panic attacks. Think of where you are going and all the fun things you will do. Don’t think about all the bad stuff that COULD HAPPEN. We all think of the worst that can happen, then when it’s all said and done you will have seen that everything that was scaring you never even took place.
If you are having a panic attack right now, then go do something anything to get your mind off of the fear that is paralizing you. Go to a friends house and play a board game or something and you will see your panic symtoms start to fade. All this fear you are feeling is all in your head and is not real. You are making yourself scared. I know what it feels like to be in a panic attack I use to have them really bad, then one day I got mad, and I remembered what my life use to be like before I had the panic attacks, and I wanted that peice of mind back so bad I just took it back. That was years ago and I no longer suffer from panic attacks. If I ever feel one trying to get ahold of me I laugh at and think of something else, then that big old monster goes bye bye.

You can also benefit by adding salt to your diet. Early in the morning and before the time of day when she's tired, put 1 / 8 to 1 / 2 teaspoon sea salt or Celtic salt into an 8 oz. glass of water and drink.
