panic attack journal
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP?

I AM LITERALLY ABOUT TO HAVE A PANIC ATTACK.
PLEASE.

I’m dying here with insane amounts of homework, and I would love you forever if someone out there could give me the proper citation for this journal article:

http://jco.ascopubs.org/cgi/reprint/24/12/1877

It doesn’t matter what format it’s in, it just has to be MLA or APA format.

The date of opening the article would be October 10, 2009.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I’ve been working since I got home with one five minute break.
I haven’t procrastinated.
I don’t want a citation site. I just need the citation, please.
I’m ready to throw up/am currently crying from being so nervous, and just this one favor would reduce my anxiety greatly, thank you.

APA format:
For citing in text you would say either
blah blah information (Agenziano et al., 2006)

or

Blah blah as discovered by Agenziano et al. (2006) blah blah

And for your refences section it would look like this : (but remember to put the volume number and journal name in italics)

Argenziano, G., Puig, S., Zalaudek, I., Sera, F., Corona, R., Alsina, M., Barbato, F., Carrera, C., Ferrara, G., Guilabert, A., Massi, D., Moreno-Romero, J. anxiety in children
If both a parent and a child's anxiety exprience?

in similar situations, how to explain, due to the influences of heredity preparedness awareness, and vicarious conditionining shocking?

It depends on people and how they respond independently to external influences (such as violence, manipulation and so on) despite being subjected to the same conditions. Anxiety is a psychological state – emotions – and it is best to talk with experts (doctors, medical specialists and others) and get expert advice. All the best! :-)

anxiety disorder symptoms in children
Anxiety Disorder, something worse is wrong with me!?

Im just ranting tonight…because i feel anxious. I was diagnosed with GAD shortly after my wife miscarried out would-be 1st child…i now am constantly worried im about to die…i think i have a brain tumor or brain cancer and cannot convince myself otherwise…is this common?
I just keep thinking it HAS to be something worse, because people like me who have control of their life do not get stuff like this. I have every symptom and multiple doc’s agree its GAD but i cannot convince myself…and will not take daily meds because i am stronger than that, and for the love of my wife, i will not turn into a zombie. i feel so hopeless…but im not depressed…at all, im happy about everything in my life EXCEPT this so called anxiety disorder…

anyone else ever thought they had a brain tumor? i just cant get rid of the idea….no cancer runs in any side of my immediate or distant, and i have already had CT scans of my NECK and down…they said i look great….why am i like this…. :(

Hi! I feel your pain, I do. I had a death in my family this past Christmas day and then 10 days later I myself had a miscarriage. I had to have surgery to have the fetus removed. About a month later my problems started. First sign I had was chest pains that sent me to the ER. Now given I am a healthy 25 year old so I was worried about it being my heart. After much blood taken and many tests I was ruled fine. I followed up with Dr. who gave me Zoloft and also Ativan. I did not take them for one I did not want to become dependent on them and two, I was terrified of the side effects that I read so much about. I instead thought it was a possble hormanal imbalance from the miscarriage that I requested to be put back on birth control and see of that helped.
I have been on since March and it seemed to help some. I still have the anxiety, but not like it was. I too think something is wrong with me a lot of the time. every pain I get I wonder if it is really something more. I can control it now with massages I sometimes get, bubble baths and I also see a counselor when needed. My life is great, I really have nothing to be upset about. I am getting married in a few weeks actually. I have a great fiance who is supportive and also a close support system that helps me immensely. Without them, I might be worse off.
I do still have my meds and someday if they are truly needed I will give them a go, but so far I have not needed them. I always have the ativan in my purse in the event of an attack but again, have not needed them.
regarding your wifes miscarriage, I have been there and I feel for the both of you. I myself and scared to try again, thinking that the same thing will happen again. I was fine before that happened to me and I haven’t been the same since. Do feel free to contact me via email if you would like to know anything else.
Good luck to you.

To anyone on Paxil, how does it effect you and your life?

I’m 15 and have been on Paxil for 5 years. I want to know how long withdrawal symptoms last after taking paxil. And what are your side effects while taking paxil, and after getting off paxil how long does it take for the side effects to go away? If you stop taking Paxil does the anxiety, depression, and panic attacks worsen or stay away? And if I decide to have children later on will the paxil effect them? Any other information about paxil would be nice.

I was on Paxil for depression/anxiety for most of last summer at 30mg/day. It really helped my moods at first, and gave me no side effects, but after about a month I felt as bad as before mood-wise and repeated dose increases weren’t bringing any benefits. Frustrated, I quit it cold turkey at the beginning of September. It was a pretty stupid move – you should never quit ANY psych med suddenly, especially without telling your doctor – but fortunately I ended up being fine.

Most of my withdrawal symptoms were physical. I felt quite dizzy, and my skin felt staticky, a little like pins and needles. My consciousness in general felt out of tune, like when the radio dial is slightly off and the station isn’t coming through very clearly. So reality wasn’t coming through very well, but I was able to recognize that fact and compensate for it, so I don’t think I was acting particularly weird. Occasionally I would get “jolts” which would zap me simultaneously in every sense – vision, hearing, balance, sense of touch. At their peak (which was about 4-6 days after quitting) I was getting “jolts” every minute or so, especially when I was alert and active. The withdrawal symptoms started on day 2 of no meds, and were at their peak on day 4-6, diminishing after that until I was symptom free about 2 weeks after quitting. I was somewhat depressed during this period, but mostly I was just out of it.

For you, your doctor will probably recommend a “tapering” schedule where you take slightly less paxil each week until you are off of it. With a slow taper, you probably won’t even notice any withdrawal effects. It is possible that your depression/anxiety could worsen, so you should keep in touch with your doctor and monitor yourself. Your doctor may want to switch you to a different medication if your symptoms come back. However, it is equally possible that you will have no increase in depression or anxiety, and you will be able to live med-free.

For a really good guide on how to stop taking psych meds, check out:
http://crazymeds.us/discontinue.htm
(P.S. Crazymeds is a good site in general for learning about your medications. It’s run by fellow crazy people (no offense of course lol) rather than by doctors or by pharmaceutical companies, so it gives you straight talk and lots of details.)

Anyway, Paxil can only affect an unborn child if you are actually taking it during your pregnancy. Since you are planning to stop taking paxil now and you will probably not be having children for several more years, you have nothing to worry about in that department. If it turns out that you are still on antidepressants when you want to have children, just talk to your doctor. Some antidepressants are better for pregnant women than others, and studies have shown that children are better off having a mother who is on antidepressants during pregnancy than a mother who is depressed during pregnancy.

Best of luck!

??????? Chemistry imbalance

I took a personality test and I said yes to every one (like 100 questions) and I have very high for all the personality disorders and I know I have a chemical imbalance, as I know that I am not a fact that will try to explain lol … anyway, ive been suffering from all kinds of anxiety and I've been telling my mom and every time shes like "ur just being paranoid" (Which is another symptom of chemical imbalance: p) and she never believed me … Now if I come to her with this because I realized all that it all boils down to a chemical imbalance, if I go to it with this shell is nothing else like it you've been looking at the brainwashing that is .. or something. Like how the hell do I say! And if I do what will the doctor, you'll go to the hospital or birth stupid? cuz i dont want to take your medicine: (i just want to get fixed! Well, thank you

Well have to go to the DR. before you think you have a chemical imbalance. And if you do. You can take medication.

I take Buspar for Anxiety and its not helping…?

Ok i take Buspar i have been on it for a while now and i go to see the doctor in about a week to see how its working for me…actually its kinda making things worse…Will my doctor give me something new or just make me keep taking this? I am all for taking this medication b/c its not addictive like xanax and other anxiety meds…I just want something to make me quit have panic attacks and such…also i am having some side effects too….like diarrhea that hasnt stopped since the second day of taking the medicine….stuff smells funny and some things even taste weird…and i continue to have anxiety attacks although not as often…if anyone has some info on this please help….i just wanted to know if maybe my doctor will switch my meds….and if he does what he will most likley give me…and if i tell him i DONT want xanax with he give it to me anyway? im going crazy here…i really think i am…lol…please help

Antidepressants can help some people with anxiety a lot. Which one would work for you is hard to say, but I think they are better to try before drugs like Xanax. If you do end up talking about Xanax or Ativan, ask about Klonopin. It is longer acting and a little less addictive. The down side is that it takes about an hour to work.

High Blood Pressure Medicine Side Effects?

My husband was put on medication for blood pressure in October. Since then (and through of two different drugs) sleeps all the time, have anxiety attacks, lightheadedness, and generally acting stoned all the time. Has anyone else been through this and no light at the end of the tunnel? I need help to return to our lives and businesses. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I suspect that he is not telling your doctor everything the doctor needs to know to balance his medications properly, the men are known for this, at their own peril. I recommend you go with him the next visit and describe everything to the doctor. Her husband could be very sensitive and require reduced doses.
