stop panic attacks while driving
I think I've been having panic attacks.?

In the past two months, whenever I feel very stressed, or afraid usually when my boyfriend and I started to fight, I have this need inside me that makes me feel like I'm going crazy. In the past I have touched the ground, rocking and crying, and basically pulling my hair and my skin almost off. I need to drill the hell out of something and scream to let out whatever emotions I feel inside. I've even taken a drive around of a block just to scream. I can never explain what I am feeling at the time, in addition to fear or stress. My boyfriend thinks he needs help and needs major talk to someone. I know my episodes while they are happening, but I can not seem to stop them. Are these panic attacks? Who should I talk to get this care?

I have a panic disorder and what you are describing does not sound like a panic attack. It does however sound like you are having some kind of problem you could use for medical aid. You are losing control and it sounds as if you can not control. When something becomes so strong we can not control and is affecting our lives, then it is time to seek help. I do not think you need significant help, but I think you need some short term help minors. I would like to start talking to someone from the Mental Health Association, which is the number in the phone book or you can find online, or or call the hot line and describe a crisis that is happening these two should be able to drive in the right direction.

To anyone on Paxil, how does it effect you and your life?

I’m 15 and have been on Paxil for 5 years. I want to know how long withdrawal symptoms last after taking paxil. And what are your side effects while taking paxil, and after getting off paxil how long does it take for the side effects to go away? If you stop taking Paxil does the anxiety, depression, and panic attacks worsen or stay away? And if I decide to have children later on will the paxil effect them? Any other information about paxil would be nice.

I was on Paxil for depression/anxiety for most of last summer at 30mg/day. It really helped my moods at first, and gave me no side effects, but after about a month I felt as bad as before mood-wise and repeated dose increases weren’t bringing any benefits. Frustrated, I quit it cold turkey at the beginning of September. It was a pretty stupid move – you should never quit ANY psych med suddenly, especially without telling your doctor – but fortunately I ended up being fine.

Most of my withdrawal symptoms were physical. I felt quite dizzy, and my skin felt staticky, a little like pins and needles. My consciousness in general felt out of tune, like when the radio dial is slightly off and the station isn’t coming through very clearly. So reality wasn’t coming through very well, but I was able to recognize that fact and compensate for it, so I don’t think I was acting particularly weird. Occasionally I would get “jolts” which would zap me simultaneously in every sense – vision, hearing, balance, sense of touch. At their peak (which was about 4-6 days after quitting) I was getting “jolts” every minute or so, especially when I was alert and active. The withdrawal symptoms started on day 2 of no meds, and were at their peak on day 4-6, diminishing after that until I was symptom free about 2 weeks after quitting. I was somewhat depressed during this period, but mostly I was just out of it.

For you, your doctor will probably recommend a “tapering” schedule where you take slightly less paxil each week until you are off of it. With a slow taper, you probably won’t even notice any withdrawal effects. It is possible that your depression/anxiety could worsen, so you should keep in touch with your doctor and monitor yourself. Your doctor may want to switch you to a different medication if your symptoms come back. However, it is equally possible that you will have no increase in depression or anxiety, and you will be able to live med-free.

For a really good guide on how to stop taking psych meds, check out:
http://crazymeds.us/discontinue.htm
(P.S. Crazymeds is a good site in general for learning about your medications. It’s run by fellow crazy people (no offense of course lol) rather than by doctors or by pharmaceutical companies, so it gives you straight talk and lots of details.)

Anyway, Paxil can only affect an unborn child if you are actually taking it during your pregnancy. Since you are planning to stop taking paxil now and you will probably not be having children for several more years, you have nothing to worry about in that department. If it turns out that you are still on antidepressants when you want to have children, just talk to your doctor. Some antidepressants are better for pregnant women than others, and studies have shown that children are better off having a mother who is on antidepressants during pregnancy than a mother who is depressed during pregnancy.

Best of luck!

panic attack eating
Someone has just ate a weed brownie and totally gave them a huge panic attack. Followed by anxiety.?

I just want people to know was through a weed brownie. Not by smoking it. And he left them totally screwed with anxiety. And he wanted his first time with the weeds was not good bad experience. And I regret eating the brownie because again, left with anxiety accompanied with all these fucking feeleings?

ha, yes this is the most common side effect of using the pot. Basically, your body creates natural endocannabinoids (EC) (which is basically THC) in the duct cannibiond located in the brain. Your brain EC pumps, which affects mood, hunger, sleep, thinking abilitiles, and others. When you eat a lot THC, their brain is not accustomed to the many and screws up the equilibrium was entered before the THC in the ducts. So basically, the brain is trying to take hold again to balance the cannabinods by evening out the amount given. So an example would be the brain allocates more of the CE and THC at different regions of the brain that affect mood, hunger, sleep, ability to think, and so on until it stabilizes again. So when a larger quantity of chemical enter the ducts different, being unaccustomed to such large quantities, it intensifies their feelings normal with increased paranoia or anxiety in your case. Do not worry about post-stress anxiety of his feelings. In terms of drugs, which had a bad trip and has left you rather freightend, almost like a bad nightmare that often go for several days. But do not worry, you will feel back to normal in due time. My advice is try not to pot again until it feels normal. And, if you want to try again, the best way to aviod negative side effects is to start in weeds very powerful bass. This way, your brain tends to be so impressed since THC has very little to play with and create a good balance. As in the drink, you need to work your way up to more difficult material, or otherwise fail in his face. Happy toking!, Or eating;)

panic attack derealization

What is the relationship between severe dissociation and panic attacks?

Has anyone experienced a dissociative fugue, amnesia or disorder multiple personality? Can you please tell me the circumstances surrounding it? How common is it? I ask because I suffer from anxiety / depersonalization / Derealization. And I know that sounds irrational, but I fear that I will forget who I am and who the people in my life. I wonder if a leak or amnesia so gradual, or apruptly? In any case, have you had any symptoms prior to dissociation?

sometimes I do and others do not (have symptoms prior to the dissociation) if I get triggered by something in my house or my therapists office I feel, click outside of me slowly and as I know it is happening gives me fear of death, is thus separated, and then I really start wand away and start having a mini nervous breakdown, that is very bad panic attack. I stunned and traumatized, and when they get back together I am totally exhausted, and only serve to sleep. I sometimes separated in an instant and when that I get totally happens inside a person with autism the depths vary in degrees. The weather has been great giving me advice that I have vacated the body. random amnesia happens to me very often. I know because people tell me things I've done or experienced, or places I've been, and really do not recall symptoms lead to it are in the fabric of the front rows of the faces of some, the tension in the jaw and shoulders, feeling a little anxious is imminent … I'm learning a lot better also in this area … (:

Can acid reflux cause a anxiety attack or a panic attack?

Please tell me the quickest way to get over a anxiety attack.

Hey, How are you?

I’m almost a doctor…

Acid reflux (GERD) cannot cause an anxiety or panic attack. Some people genetically are more prone to get these attacks. Two ways to reduce them are to:

– Avoid the triggers that cause the panic attacks (irritating people) or to have calming people support you when ya have to face certain triggers (i.e. tests).

– If it goes on for months, and praying, avoiding triggers, and family/friends’ support doesn’t work, go to a psychiatrist, explain what happens, and they have EXCELLENT medications that will help.

panic attack symptoms
What are the symptoms of a panic attack and an anxiety attack? And what can i do to prevent it?

hard to breathe, chest closing in, heart palpatations, feels like it is coming out of your chest. Confusion and dizziness. …scared feeling like you are going to die….

you can get a prescription, but they typically make you feel worse than actually having a panic attack. I went to the DR..got my heart monitored and everything checked just for peace of mind..then I took it upon my self to psychologically help my train of thought when I had them…..I would go run out side to get fresh air…at some points if it got really bad i would get driven to the ER and not actually go in…it really helped knowing doctors were a few steps away. (sounds weird I know, but ER bills are so high!)
